My Aunt gave me this recipe,that has been in my family for generations. It is very rich and sweet but my family loves it. This is always made during the Holidays.

Ingredients

2 Tbsp
butter or margarine
1 c
milk
2 tsp
baking powder
1 1/2 c
sugar
2 1/2 c
boiling water
1 c
brown sugar, light
2 c
all purpose flour
1 c
walnuts, chopped
1 1/2 c
brown sugar, light
2 Tbsp
butter or margarine

Step-By-Step

1Cream the first 2tblsp. butter, 1 cup brown sugar and milk. Combine flour and baking powder; gradually stir into creamed mixture; Add walnuts. Set aside.
2Boil granulated sugar, 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, boiling water and remaining 2 tblsp. butter. Mixture will be thin. Pour into ungreased 9x13 inch pan. Spoon cake mixture over the top, leaving holes.
3Bake 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes. Do not overbake. Can serve with Vanilla bean ice cream or whipped cream.
