My Aunt gave me this recipe,that has been in my family for generations. It is very rich and sweet but my family loves it. This is always made during the Holidays.

  • 2 Tbsp
    butter or margarine
  • 1 c
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 2 1/2 c
    boiling water
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, light
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    walnuts, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c
    brown sugar, light
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter or margarine

How to Make Grandma Tabor's Walnut Pudding


  1. Cream the first 2tblsp. butter, 1 cup brown sugar and milk. Combine flour and baking powder; gradually stir into creamed mixture; Add walnuts. Set aside.
  2. Boil granulated sugar, 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, boiling water and remaining 2 tblsp. butter. Mixture will be thin. Pour into ungreased 9x13 inch pan. Spoon cake mixture over the top, leaving holes.
  3. Bake 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes. Do not overbake. Can serve with Vanilla bean ice cream or whipped cream.
