Wonderful dessert that I have made for Christmas and Easter. I've tried numerous puddings with it and have found are favorite to be Coconut Cream. Make sure you let the cream layer set completely before adding the pudding layer. I hope your family enjoys it as much as mine!

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup cool whip
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 packages pudding (your choice) 4 oz. packages
  • 1 package vanilla pudding 4 oz. package
  • 4 cups milk

How To Make french velvet

  • Step 1
    Crust: Combine walnuts, flour and butter. Press into a 9x13 cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  • Step 2
    Cream layer: Combine cream cheese, cool whip and powdered sugar. Blend thoroughly, put on crust. Chill until set completely.
  • Step 3
    Pudding layer: Combine all puddings with the milk. Blend thoroughly, put on cream layer. Chill until set. Garnish with cool whip.
