cranberry christmas pudding and sauce
I am adopting this recipe,as it is similar to the one Mom liked to serve at Christmas time, with a rich sauce. She always said: do not substitute ingredients! The ingredients listed were the same, but I have changed the quantities, and eliminated the vanilla in the sauce. You can include vanilla if desired. Hers was less sweet also.

Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 teaspoons soda dissolved in 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 1/3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- SAUCE INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream

Step 1Mix first five ingredients for pudding in order given.

Step 2Steam in a one quart greased mold for 2 hours.

Step 3Mix sauce ingredients in a double boiler,and and cook for 15 minutes.
