cranberries-pear crisp with added blueberries

Thanks to Carol Junkins and her group on JAP, I tried making her suggestion of Cranberry-Pear Crisp. This resulted, since I didn't have or remember to get a package of Craisins, or Honey Roasted Almond Accents,and I didn't have a lemon or lemon juice. I'm always substituting things, and often don't follow instructions.....

Ingredients

  • 5 - pears, large,ripe, skin removed and chopped
  • 1/2 cup large fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup whole cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup agave syrup/nectar
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • TOPPING:
  • 1 stick butter, cut into 8 pieces, and slightly soft
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup ground almonds (light salted is what i used)
  • 1/2 cup sugar

How To Make cranberries-pear crisp with added blueberries

  • Step 1
    Spray a casserole dish (3 qts.) or a baking dish. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Mix pears, cranberry sauce and blueberries with the Agave Nectar and lime juice. Pour mixture into greased dish.
  • Step 3
    In a bowl mix butter,flour,sugar and ground almonds to make a stiff topping. Add topping to the fruit, by patting it down on the surface.
  • Step 4
    Bake for 50 minutes, check to see if it's brown on top, if necessary bake about 5 more minutes. Serve while warm, with or without ice cream or whipped cream.
