Ingredients
- 2 pounds french bread loaf or homestyle white bread, cubed
- 4 cups milk
- 2 cups half and half
- 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar, divided
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup dried tart cherries
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
How To Make cherry pecan bread pudding

Step 1Spread bread cubes on a baking sheet; let dry overnight. In a saucepan over low heat, combine milk, half and half, and 7 tablespoons sugar. Heat to 120F on a candy thermometer; remove from heat. In a large bowl, combine eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and remaining sugar; blend with a whisk. Stir in cherries and pecans. Slowly whisk half of milk mixture into egg mixture; add remaining milk mixture. Stir in bread cubes; toss to mix and let stand for 5 minutes.

Step 2Mix in melted butter; transfer mixture to a lightly greased 13x10 baking pan. Bake at 350F for 35 minutes, or until center is firm. Serve warm.
