Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 - eggs
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 cups day old french bread, cut into 3/4 in cubes
- 2 cans queen anne cherries (drained)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- - cinnamon, mixed with sugar
- - whipped cream, sweetened (optional)
How To Make cherry french bread pudding

Step 1Heat the milk and butter until hot but do not boil. Set aside.

Step 2Beat eggs, sugar, cornstarch, vanilla and salt together.

Step 3Gradually add the milk to the egg mixture.

Step 4Pour over the bread and let stand 30 minutes.

Step 5Spread cherries over the bottom of a 9" buttered square pan.

Step 6Pour the bread mixture over the cherries.

Step 7Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.

Step 8Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until tester in center comes out clean.

Step 9Cool slightly and serve with whipped cream, if desired.
