I found this recipe in a 1940 cookbook that belonged to my mother. It sounded so strange that I had to try it for myself. Much to my surprise it works, plus it is very tasty.

Ingredients For caramel pudding

  • 1 can
    sweetened condensed milk

How To Make caramel pudding

  • 1
    cover unopened can of sweetened condensed milk with water. Heat to boiling. Boil 3 hours. Chill. Remove pudding from can. Slice. Serve with chopped nuts, dates, oranges or bananas. Garnish with wiped cream. 6 servings.
