I normally don't care for bread puddings but when my bowling buddy made this recipe and it was a big hit.

Ingredients

  • 1 - loaf of cinnamon raisin bread
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 9 - eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups half and half
  • TOPPING
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream

How To Make bread pudding

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Crumble bread into 9x13 greased pan.
  • Step 3
    Wisk 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, eggs, cinnamon, vanilla and salt.
  • Step 4
    Heat milk and half and half in microwave for 4 minutes. Pour into the above mixture and wisk. Pour over bread and let set for 15 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove from oven.
  • Step 6
    Bring the topping ingredients to a boil stirring constantly until thick (approximately 7 minutes. Pour over bread pudding.
