I got this recipe from my mother-in-law Ann. Its the best recipe for bread pudding I have ever had.

Ingredients

2
slightly beaten eggs
2 1/4 c
milk
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1/2 tsp
cinnamon, ground
1/4 tsp
salt
2 c
bread cubed (5 or 6 slices)
1/2 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c
raisins

BUTTER SAUCE INGREDIENTS

1/2 c
granulated sugar or brown sugar
2 1/2 Tbsp
all purpose flour
2 Tbsp
butter
1 c
water
1 tsp
vanilla extract

How to Make Bread Pudding

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and salt.
  • 2Add bread cubes as well as brown sugar and raisins.
  • 3Mix ingredients together and pour into round cake pan.
  • 4Place round cake pan into bigger more shallow pan and fill 1in deep hot water. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
  • 5BUTTER SAUCE
  • 6Melt butter in saucepan.
  • 7Combine sugar and flour and add to melted butter.
  • 8Slowly add water while stirring constantly. Until mixture is smooth.
  • 9Add vanilla and blend well. Spoon sauce over bread pudding and serve warm.
