Ingredients

  • 1 quart milk
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

How To Make boiled custard

  • Step 1
    Beat eggs, salt, sugar and cornstarch.
  • Step 2
    Add milk and pour in double boiler.
  • Step 3
    Start on high heat until starting to get thick then reduce to medium heat...stirring constantly or it will scald.
  • Step 4
    When thick, pour into container and refrigerate several hours until chilled. Serve plain or over ice cream.
