Susan Cutler

This is my exmother-in-laws recipe! She makes it to this day-everyone loves it. I have had this for at least 50 years.

How to Make Baked Custard

  1. Beat eggs slightly. Add sugar, milk, salt, and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Pour into greased casserole dish and sprinkle nutmeg on top ~much as you like. Probably 1/2 to 1 teaspoon.
  2. Place casserole in middle of pan leaving enough room on sides to add very hot or boiling water just halfway up on casserole dish.
  3. When knife in center comes out only slightly coated, remove from pan and out of oven. Use appropriate pot holders. Let cool.

    Bake at 325 degrees F - 1 hour
