This is an all time favorite recipe. The lady I got it from made me promise I would never give it to anyone else as long as she was living. I don't know why.....I've always considered it a compliment if someone asks me for a recipe. Anyway, she passed away a couple of year's ago, so now I am free to pass it on......ENJOY!!!!!!!

3/4 c
1 tsp
1 c
chopped dates
1/2 c
chopped walnuts
1/4 tsp
1-1/2 tsp
4 medium
apples, peeled, and thinly sliced
1-1/2 c
1 tsp
baking soda

How to Make Apple-Date Nut Pudding


  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2Grease and flour 9 x 13 baking pan
  • 3Cream sugar and shortening.
  • 4Add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
  • 5Sift dry ingrediants together three times.
  • 6Add alternately with apples, dates, and nuts to sugar mixture.
  • 7Press into prepared pan.
  • 8Bake for 30 minutes, or till tests done when a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • 9Can be served warm or cold. Can be topped with ice cream or whipped topping, if desired.
