I put the ends of bread, stale dinner rolls etc in the freezer and make this up when I get a bag full or so.

bread crumbs
1/2 c
2 c
apples pealed, cored and sliced - if you preffer to leave the peals on i would recommend dicing the apples small
1 c
brown sugar
1 3/4 c
half and half
1/4 c
1 tsp
1/2 tsp
eggs, beaten

How to Make Apple Bread Pudding


  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a baking pan. (app. 7x11)
  • 2Combine bread crumbs, apples, and raisins.
  • 3On stove top blend the brown sugar, milk and butter to a gentle boil and pour this mixture over the bread mixture. Let this rest for 5-10 minutes.
  • 4Meanwhile combine the cinnamon, vanilla and beaten eggs.
  • 5Gently pour the bread and milk mixture into your greased pan. Drizzle the egg mix over this.
  • 6Bake in preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or untill the center is set and the edges start pulling away from sides of pan.
  • 7Serve warm with cream or vanilla sauce (see my recipe).
