Ingredients
- 1 - home made or store bought pie crust 9", unbaked
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice, ground
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger, ground
- 1 1/2 cups pumpkin, canned or cooked
- 2 - eggs, separated
- 3/4 cup canned milk
- 3/4 cup milk, whole
How To Make william howard taft's pumpkin pie

Step 1Mix sugars, salt and spices. Add pumpkin. Add egg yolks and canned and whole milk. (Can add more amounts of spices, to taste if desired).

Step 2Beat egg whites, not too stiff, and fold into pumpkin mixture. Pour into pie shell.

Step 3Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then turn down temperature to 350 degrees until done, approximately 30 to 40 minutes(depends on your oven). Test pie by when a knife comes out of filling clean.

Step 4I like to top my pumpkin pie with cool whip or whipped cream, sometimes sprinkled with a little bit of pumpkin pie spice on top.
