I have tried many pecan pie recipes but I always enjoy this one the best. This is for you, Nancy...only if the hubby doesn't throw the pecans out!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 stick butter (or 1 st margarine), melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup dark karo or king syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 medium eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3/4 cup pecans, chopped
  • 9" - pie shell

How To Make white house pecan pie

  • Step 1
Melt butter. Preheat oven to 350. Smear a little egg white or a little milk in bottom of uncooked pie shell, which will prevent the bottom from being soggy once cooked.
  • Step 2
Blend sugar, syrup, salt & vanilla then add in melted butter and combine well. Add in the eggs and mix gently until well blended. Fold in pecans and pour into pie shell.
  • Step 3
Bake @ 350 for 10 minutes then reduce heat to ***325 & continue baking an additional 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Step 4
***Tip: you may need to cover outer crust with aluminum foil to prevent too much browning. Or use a pie shield if you have one.
  • Step 5
