I found this recipe in an old cookbook that I checked out at a library. It tastes wonderful.

I've never tried it with store bought pie filling (4 Cups).

Like all cobblers, it's good with ice cream or home-made whipped cream.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

1 c
all purpose flour
1 c
sugar
3/4 c
whole milk
1/4 lb
butter, melted
1 pinch
salt
1 tsp
baking powder
1 qt
home preserved fruit

How to Make Wash Day Cobbler

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix first 6 ingredients together.
  • 2Butter an 8"x8" glass casserole dish. Pour the batter into the dish.
  • 3Pour on the fruit, juice and all.

    Sprinkle with sugar.

    Bake at 350 degrees for an hour.
