This recipe is from the BAKE OFF COOKBOOK 1961-1980. The bake offs are held every year at the Tanana Valley State Fair held in my home town of Fairbanks Alaska. I can never make enough of these tasty little treats. Believe me, you can't eat just one!! Try them out and let me know what you think.

Ingredients
- 3 ounces cream cheese
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup sifted flour
- 1 - egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- dash salt
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter or marg
- 2/3 cup chopped walnuts
How To Make walnut tassis

Step 1Cream Cheese Pastry Soften cream cheese and butter and blend together. Stir in flour, Chill 1 hour Shape into 1" balls; place in ungreased 1-3/4" muffin pans, pressing dough evenly on bottom and sides. (I use the back of a 1/2 tsp measuring spoon to help do this.)

Step 2Walnut Filling: Beat together egg, vanill, salt, brn sugar and 1 TBLSP. butter, just until smooth. Add walnuts and stir.

Step 3Fill pastry cups 1/2 full. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes or until filling is set. Cool before removing from pan.
