Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
- 8 tablespoons cold water
- 9 tablespoons sugar
- 2 1/4 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 - eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup vanilla ice cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 1 - 9 inch baked pie shell
How To Make vanilla bavarian cream pie

Step 1Soften gelatin in cold water.

Step 2Scald the milk.

Step 3In a mixing bowl, mix together sugar and cornstarch.

Step 4Add eggs and mix thoroughly.

Step 5Add milk and softened gelatin, stirring constantly.

Step 6Cook custard in double boiler over hot water until it thickens and coats spoon.

Step 7Remove from heat.

Step 8Add ice cream while custard is hot.

Step 9Cool thoroughly.

Step 10Add vanilla.

Step 11Whip the cream and fold 1 1/2 cups into cooled custard.

Step 12Pour filling into pie shell, and refrigerate until set.

Step 13Garnish with remaining whipped cream.
