washed lemons
1/4 tsp
salt
2 c

How to Make Two Crust Ohio Lemon Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1cut off ends of lemons.place on a cutting board to catch juice. slice into paper thin slices, remove any seeds
  • 2combine lemon slices, juice and sugar. let stand 2 hours at room temperature
  • 3beat eggs with salt and add to lemon mixture
  • 4put in pastry shell
  • 5cover with top crust, seal and slit
  • 6bake first 15 minutes 425 degrees
  • 7turn heat down to 350 degrees, bake additional 30 to 40 minutes
