This is a very old recipe from my Dad's late Aunt. Has been a family favorite my whole life.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 5 teaspoons lemon zest, grated
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups thinly sliced green tomatoes

How To Make tomato pie

  • Step 1
    mix sugar, cinnamon, salt, lemon juice and rind with fork.
  • Step 2
    place tomatoes in layers in unbaked pie shell, sprinkle each layer with mixture.
  • Step 3
    place butter, cut into pats, throughout layers.
  • Step 4
    place unbaked pie shell on top and bake.
