Ingredients

  • 2 cups finely chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • FILLING INGREDIENTS
  • 14 ounces caramels
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 8 - semisweet chocolate squares
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 3/8 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

How To Make the ultimate caramel chocolate pecan pie

  • Step 1
    CRUST: Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Mix pecans, sugar and butter.
  • Step 3
    Press onto bottom and sides of 9 inch pie plate.
  • Step 4
    Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Step 5
    Cool.
  • Step 6
    FILLING: Melt caramels with 1/4 cup milk in heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth.
  • Step 7
    Pour over crust; sprinkle with pecans.
  • Step 8
    Stir chocolate, 1/3 cup milk, powdered sugar and vanilla in heavy saucepan over very low heat just until melted.
  • Step 9
    Pour over caramel pecan filling spreading to edges of pie.
  • Step 10
    Refrigerate.
  • Step 11
    Serve with sweetened whipped cream if desired.
