A nurse I worked with many years ago gave me this recipe, I have used it often. It's very easy and makes a great summer dessart.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1 - 9 oz carton frozen whipped topping thawed
  • 1 - 6 3/4 oz vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1/2 cup softed butter
  • 1 - 8 oz pkg. cream cheese softened.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 - 6 3/4 oz chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 - grated chocolate candy bar (optional)

How To Make the next best thing to ????

  • Step 1
    make the bottom crust by mixing together flour, butter, and pecans until crumb like. press into a greased 13x9" baking pan, bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes, until lightly golden rown.
  • Step 2
    take out of oven and cool completely.
  • Step 3
    beat cream cheese, with sugar until smooth, fold in 1/2 of the whipped topping, then spread mixture over cooled crust.
  • Step 4
    combine vanilla and chocolate pudding mixes and beat in milk until smooth and thickened. spread over cream cheese layer.
  • Step 5
    spread the remaning whipped topping over the top. sprinkle with the greated chocolate candy bar cover and refrigerate over night.
