No butter or shortening needed! I needed a quick crust to make a quiche last Sunday and found this in a very old church cookbook I had stashed away for years. Whipped up the crust in a matter of minutes & it turned out great. Loved that I could use whatever oil I had on hand. I used coconut oil since it's a little healthier & it gave a great flavor. Here's a nice simple pie crust that anyone could make: )

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup oil (any type)
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

How To Make "the easiest & best pie crust in the world!"

  • Step 1
Mix flour, sugar & salt together and make well in center. Pour liquids into well & stir together w/a fork. Place in pie pan (I like to spray pan first with non-stick cooking spray). Pat in place with spatula or fingers. Form edge & bake as recipe directs.
  • Step 2
If double crust is needed, simply double recipe & divide dough. Roll top crust between two sheets of wax paper. No need to brush with anything. For pie sprinkle top crust w/sugar. Crust will brown nicely.
