This was sent to me by the realtor that sold our house in Florida 10 years ago. She still sends a delicious recipe once a year. Always look forward to getting them.

How to Make The Crafty Gourmet's Apple Torte

Step-by-Step

  1. TORTE:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter or spray 8" cake pan. Stir first four ingredients into medium bowl. Beat sugar and butter in large bowl. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in dry ingredients; add apples and nuts. Transfer to prepared pan. Bake 45 to 50 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature with or without ice cream and sauce.

    SAUCE:
Combine first 4 ingredients in saucepan over medium heat. Stir until butter melts and sugars dissolve, increase heat and boil until slightly thickened, about 3 minutes. Mix in rum.
  2. From the kitchen of Carolyn the Crafty Gourmet from Real Estate Agent Susie Gruber, Fort Myers, Florida. This has the Stewart Seal of Approval. Totally scumptious. I will add a picture the next time I make it.

Be prepared, this is a very moist recipe and will keep on your counter covered for several days.
