This recipe was passed down to me from my mom. I grew up always eating sweet potato pie during the holidays instead of pumpkin. This is an oldie but goodie in my family. This is super easy and delish!!

Ingredients

  • 2 - prepared pie shells
  • 2 cups cooked and smashed sweet poatatoes
  • 3/4 stick butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup cream or half and half
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make sweet poatato pie

  • Step 1
    preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Step 2
    Prepare sweet potatoed ..I use canned sweet potatoes and heat them up on the stove..Some people bake or boil fresh
  • Step 3
    Smash warm sweet potatoes and add butter..stir until melted. Add the rest of ingredients saving the half and half until last.
  • Step 4
    Pour equal amounts into two pie shells. Bake for 1 hour
  • Step 5
    Serve warm or or room temp
