This recipe was passed down to me from my mom. I grew up always eating sweet potato pie during the holidays instead of pumpkin. This is an oldie but goodie in my family. This is super easy and delish!!

Ingredients

prepared pie shells
2 c
cooked and smashed sweet poatatoes
3/4 stick
butter
1 1/2 c
sugar
1/2 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/2 tsp
cinnamon
3/4 c
cream or half and half
3
eggs
1 tsp
vanilla extract

How to Make Sweet Poatato Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • 2Prepare sweet potatoed ..I use canned sweet potatoes and heat them up on the stove..Some people bake or boil fresh
  • 3Smash warm sweet potatoes and add butter..stir until melted. Add the rest of ingredients saving the half and half until last.
  • 4Pour equal amounts into two pie shells. Bake for 1 hour
  • 5Serve warm or or room temp
