sweet cherrity pie
A delicious, creamy...cherry flavored pie. I have made this pie for potlucks over the years and always got rave reviews and requests for the recipe. Picture and recipe came of a pillsbury bake off in the early 70's..I many of these little cookbooks, all have become some of my favorites to cook from..

Ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
- FILLING:
- 1 - 8 ounce pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 - 21 ounce can of cherry pie filling
- 1 cup whipping cream, whipped and sweetened*
How To Make sweet cherrity pie

Step 1Heat oven to 375. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. In ungreased 13 x 9 inch pan, combine first 4 ingredients. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown; stir once while baking. Reserve 1/2 cup crumbs for top. Using spoon, firmly press remaining warm crumb mixture into ungreased 9 or 10 inch pie pan. Chill Crust.

Step 2In medium bowl, blend first 3 filling ingredients until smooth. Spread over crust. Fold fruit filling into whipped cream. Spoon over cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Chill 1 to 2 hours before serving. Store in refrigerator.

Step 3*TIP...VERY IMPORTANT! Do not use frozen whipped topping, such as cool whip in this recipe.
