MY husband loves this pie because we are from NEW CASTLE INDIANA and up there everybody likes this pie .But since we moved here 21years ago no one has heard of sugar cream pie so every once in a while I will make A couple for my loving husband .Oh yeah there is always A couple on our dessert table on the holidays .I also make them for his family for A christmas gift they also love them,they request them!!

Ingredients

1 cup sugar
2 cups milk
1 stick butter, cold
4 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 pinches nutmeg

How To Make sugar cream pie

Step 1

melt butter sugar milk and vanilla until smooth.

Step 2

pour about half cup mixture in a small bowl stir until smooth add to the rest of the mixture until stir until thick.
Step 3

pour in prepared pie crust sprinkle nutmeg on top.
