sue’s fresh strawberry pie
This was my sweet mother-in-law’s strawberry pie recipe. Before Alzheimer’s took over, she was the BEST cook! I asked her once to show me how to make this pie, as it was her son’s favorite & has since become my recipe to take to all the family functions. She may no longer remember, but I do! Hope you all enjoy the recipe as much as we do!

- 1 pint strawberries, fresh
- 1 package deep dish pie shell
How To Make sue’s fresh strawberry pie
-
Step 1Bake pie crust according to package directions, let cool.
-
Step 2Combine cornstarch with water until smooth. In small saucepan mix cornstarch water & sugar. On medium heat bring to boil until mixture thickens. Remove from heat & add jello. Let cool 10-15 min
-
Step 3Dice strawberries & add to cooled pie shell. Pour filling over berries slowly, gently moving berries around. Refrigerate until set. Enjoy! *i don’t always use all the filling... depends on the size of the berries. Just fill the pie shell to the top.
