Strawberry Margarita Pie

This was a lost recipe which I submitted to a church cookbook in 1999. I recently found the cookbook. It takes a little extra effort to make but well worth it.

  • 1/2 c
  • 1/4 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2/3 c
    pretzels, crushed
  • 1 tsp
    powdered sugar

  • 24 large
  • 2/3 c
    evaporated milk
  • 1 c
    fresh strawberries, hulled & mashed (or frozen, thawed & drained)
  • 1/4 c
    tequila (divided)
  • 1/3 c
    fresh lime juice
  • 2
    8-oz. containers whipped topping (divided)
  • 1/8 tsp
    red food color

  • 2
    fresh limes, sliced
  • 1/4 c
    macadamia nuts, chopped

How to Make Strawberry Margarita Pie


  1. To make pie crust: lightly grease a 9-inch pie plate or dish
  2. Melt butter; add sugar and pretzels, mixing well.
  3. Press into prepared plate or dish
  4. Bake at 450 degrees for 9-11 minutes.
  5. Cool COMPLETELY; dust with powdered sugar.
  6. In medium glass bowl, heat marshmallows and milk in microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes.
  7. Remove from microwave; stir until smooth.
  8. Return to microwave; heat 1 additional minute on HIGH.
  9. Remove 1/2 cup mixture to separate bowl.
  10. Fold in strawberries until mixture is smooth.
  11. Stir in 2 tablespoons of the tequila and lime juice.
  12. Add remaining tequila to plain mixture.
  13. Chill both mixtures for 20 minutes until thickened.
  14. Divide 2 cups of the whipped topping between each mixture, folding gently.
  15. Spoon strawberry mixture into cooled pretzel crust.
  16. Spread plain mixture on top.
  17. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm.
  18. Garnish with remaining whipped topping and lime slices.
  19. Sprinkle with nuts.
