strawberries and cream pie
I have made this creamy,delicious pie more times than I can remember for my family and friends. It is delicious.. The recipe came from my Taste of Home magazine.. I have made it with the chocolate layer as well as without..entirely up to the individual. This pie is often requested by my family. It would be a great dessert to serve to your Valentine too. Ingredients
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, divided
- 3 teaspoons shortening, divided
- 1 - graham cracker crust (10 inches) - i have made my own too
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 - (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, halved
- 1/2 cup seedless strawberry jam
How To Make strawberries and cream pie

Step 1In a microwave, melt 3/4 cup chocolate chips and 2 teaspoons shortening; stir until smooth. Brush over crust. Refrigerate until firm.

Step 2In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, sour cream and vanilla until smooth.

Step 3Fold in whipped topping.

Step 4Spoon into crust. Refrigerate for 1 hour.

Step 5Arrange strawberries over pie. In a microwave, heat jam until melted; brush over the top. **I used glaze on this pie

Step 6Melt remaining chocolate chips and shortening; stir until smooth. Drizzle over pie. Refrigerate until chilled.

Step 7I have never served this pie to anyone that didn't love it.. Enjoy!
