A grown up version of apple pie.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 dash ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 cup bacardi rum
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 8 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 - double pie crust

How To Make spiked apple pie

  • Step 1
    Peel, core and slice apples. Combine with lemon juice and 1/2 cup sugar. Chill. Drain apple mixture and return 1/4 cup liquid to mixture.
  • Step 2
    Stir in flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and rum. Chill.
  • Step 3
    Prick bottom and sides of pie shell with a fork. Spoon apple mixture into prepared pie crust, forming a dome.
  • Step 4
    Cover with second pie crust. Make slits in pie crust. Brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Cover edges with aluminum foil. Bake on a baking sheet at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 20 - 35 minutes.
