spicy blueberry pie
(1 RATING)
I like pies that have a little spice added. This blueberry pie is excellent and makes the whole house smell good. I like it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients
- 2 - refrigerated pie crusts or homemade (i always make my own pie crust from scratch)
- 3-4 cups blueberries, fresh or frozen
- 1 tablespoon flour or tapioca
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
How To Make spicy blueberry pie
-
Step 1Line 9 inch pie plate with one crust.
-
Step 2Combine brown sugar, flour and cloves. Toss in the blueberries. Add to crust. Dot with butter.
-
Step 3Cover with top crust. Poke holes in top or cut a design to let steam out. NOTE: I have little pie cutters that I use. With scraps of dough I cut out little leafs or nuts to place on top of pie. Brush with milk to help it stick to crust. I brush the top of pie crust with milk and sprinkle lightly with granulated sugar.
-
Step 4Bake pie in a preheated oven at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then lower to 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Crust should be golden brown.
-
Step 5Cool on a wire rack. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
