1Sift salt, baking powder and flour. Cut in shortening and add egg yolk, sugar and milk to make a dough.
2Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into 4 to 5 inch circles or squares or rectangles whatever is easiest for you just so when you fold them they are around 2 inches wide. Put a tablespoon or scoop on each piece of dough. Fold dough over fruit filling and seal with a fork dipped in flour.
3Fry in 360 degree oil until golden brown. Drain and dust with powdered sugar.
