9 in. pie crust (nilla wafer prefered)
How to Make South African Milk Tart
1Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2In large bowl, mix butter and sugar until smooth. Add the egg yolks and beat until light and fluffy.
3Sift cake flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to batter and stir until well blended. Mix in the vanilla and milk.
4In a seperate bowl, whip the egg whites until they are in stiff peak form. Fold into batter.
5Pour into the pie crust and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar on top.
6Bake for 25 min. then reduce the heat to 325 degrees. bake for another 25 min. or until the center is set when you gently jiggle the pie. Serve hot or cold.
