I grew up eating sour cream raisin pie. My mother made many desserts with raisins and sour cream. She made the best pie's and they were always requested over cakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 3 - egg yolks
  • 1 - egg white
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • PIE CRUST
  • 1/3 cup butter, cold
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 4-5 tablespoons water

How To Make sour cream raisin pie

  • Step 1
    Pie Crust: Mix flour, baking powder & salt together. Cut in butter to flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal. Then add apple cider vinegar and cold water. Mix into a ball and roll out. Prick crust so it does not bubble.
  • Step 2
    Bake crust at 400 F degrees for about 15 minutes or until lightly golden. Cool.
  • Step 3
    Filling: Combine all ingredients and cook until thick. Spoon filling into cooled pie crust and cover with a meringue or whipped cream. Enjoy!!
