This is a delicious pie my friend Donna makes at holiday time. Enjoy!!

Ingredients

  • 1 - unbaked pie shell for 2 crust pie
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 cans pitted red tart cherries (16 oz) drained
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar

How To Make sour cherry pie

  • Step 1
    preheat oven to 425
  • Step 2
    mix sugar and flour.
  • Step 3
    stir cherries into sugar mixture. turn into pastry lined pie plate.
  • Step 4
    Sprinkle with almond extract and dot with butter.
  • Step 5
    Cover pie with top crust that has slits cut into it. seal and flute edge.
  • Step 6
    Bake until crust is brown and juice begins to bubble through the slits. approx 35-45 minutes.
