This recipe came from my cousin, he's baked it for his church every time something happens that calls for food. It's their most requested desert. It is also the best pecan pie I have ever tasted, or baked!

Ingredients
- - 9" deep dish pie crust
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 stick butter
- 1/2 cup dark corn syrup (karo)
- 1/ cup light corn syrup (karo)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 - eggs
- few drops - maple flavoring (he says this is the secret ingredient)
- 2 cups chopped pecans
How To Make sonny's pecan pie

Step 1Add sugar and butter to medium saucepan.

Step 2Heat on low long enough to dissolve sugar and melt butter.

Step 3Add beaten eggs to the butter and sugar. Mix well.

Step 4Add vanilla.

Step 5Add chopped pecans to the mixture.

Step 6Heat until it just begins to bubble. Set aside and let cool for about 10 minutes.

Step 7Add few drops of maple flavoring.

Step 8Pour into prepared pie crust.

Step 9Bake at 350 for one hour and 10 minutes. After 10-15 minutes, put foil around the crust to prevent over browning.

Step 10Shake pie to test, if middle is soft, bake a few minutes longer.

Step 11Let sit for one hour before cutting.
