I recently obtained some Goodhousekeeping recipe books from 1958. I am enjoying them tremendously! This is a recipe that is worth sharing. Hope you enjoy it too.

Ingredients
- 1 - baked 8" pie shell
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 2 - egg yolks
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 3 or 4 - ripe bananas
- - enough lemon juice to brush bananas
- - whipped cream
How To Make so easy banana-caramel pie

Step 1In saucepan, mix cold water and egg yolks. Combine sugars, flour, and salt; stir into yolk mixture. Gradually add boiling water, stirring briskly. Cook, stirring, 3 to 5 minutes til smooth and thick.

Step 2Add butter and vanilla; cool 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour into baked pie shell. Refrigerate several hours.

Step 3Serve: Slice bananas and brush with lemon juice. Arrange over pie filling. Spread whipped cream over all.
