"simple" and simply delicious apple pie
This was the first pie my mom taught me to make. I've tweaked it a million ways over the years, but mom's is the one I always go back to.

Ingredients
- 1 package pillsbury pie crusts, or you favorite 2 crust pastry
- 8 cups thinly sliced granny smith apples, peeled and cored
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- - (or) 1 1/2 teaspoons apple pie spice
- 3 tablespoons cold butter
How To Make "simple" and simply delicious apple pie

Step 1Makes a nice 10" pie. Preheat oven to 425

Step 2Combine apple slices,sugars,flour and spices in a large bowl and mix to cover apple slices completely. Roll out your bottom crust and fit in pie dish leaving 1/2" overhang. moisten edge with water.

Step 3place apples in bottom crust, dot with cold butter, put on top crust, seal edges and cut slits in top crust.

Step 4Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, covering edges if browning to much
