  • 1 c
    dark molasses
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 c
    warm water
  • 2
    unbaked pie shell
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 5 Tbsp
    shortening

How to Make SHOO FLY PIE

Step-by-Step

  1. MAKE CRUST AND PUT IN TWO 9-INCH PIE SHELLS AND CHILL. MIX FLOUR SIFTED WITH SUGAR AND 3/4 TEASPOON SODA. CUT IN SHORTENING. MIX THE 1 TEASPOON SODA WITH WARM WATER. ADD MOLASSES AND STIR TO MIX WELL. POUR INTO CRUST LINE PANS AND SPRINKLE WITH FLOUR AND SHORTENING MIXTURE.
  2. BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR 35-40 MINUTES OR UNTIL DONE.
