- 1 cup warm water
- 2 - unbaked pie shell
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 5 tablespoons shortening

Step 1MAKE CRUST AND PUT IN TWO 9-INCH PIE SHELLS AND CHILL. MIX FLOUR SIFTED WITH SUGAR AND 3/4 TEASPOON SODA. CUT IN SHORTENING. MIX THE 1 TEASPOON SODA WITH WARM WATER. ADD MOLASSES AND STIR TO MIX WELL. POUR INTO CRUST LINE PANS AND SPRINKLE WITH FLOUR AND SHORTENING MIXTURE.

Step 2BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR 35-40 MINUTES OR UNTIL DONE.
