Ingredients

  • WET INGREDIENTS

  • 2 c
    boiling water
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 c
    king syrup
  • DRY INGREDIENTS

  • 2 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 3
    8" unbaked pie shells

How to Make shoo fly pie

Step-by-Step

  1. In large bowl put baking soda, add boiling water and stir. Add king syrup and stir until blended.
  2. In large bowl combine dry ingredients until they resemble the size of small peas.
  3. In 3 small 8" pie shells put 1 1/3 cup liquid. Sprinkle over liquid evenly with 1/3 dry ingredients.
  4. Bake in 400 degree oven for about 45 minutes until golden brown. Makes 3 8" pies.
