sherry walnut pie
A dear friend of the family gave this recipe to me many years ago. It is a wonderful alternative to pecan pie, especially during the holidays. That touch of sherry adds something special.

- 3/4 stick butter or marg
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 3/4 cup dark corn syrup
- 4 large eggs
- 1/3 +1/4 cup sweet sherry wine

How To Make sherry walnut pie
-
Step 1Melt buter, stir in flour. Add corn syrup, wine, sugar. Cook, stirring constantly until mixture boils. Beat eggs in separate bowl. Stir hot mixture gradually into the beaten eggs a small amount at a time so it will not curdle eggs until all can be added. Add nuts and pour into unbaked pie shell.

Step 2Bake in preheated oven 375 degrees for 45 min or till firm. (Any extra filling may be baked in about half the time in a small custard cup.)
