Ingredients
- 1 - ready-made pie crust at room temp.
- 4 large red delicious apples, peeled, sliced 1/2"-thick
- 2 large granny smith apples, peeled, sliced 1/2"-thick
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon orange peel or zest.
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 - egg, beaten
How To Make rustic-style apple pie.

Step 1Heat oven to 375. Set down a lg piece of parchment paper on work surface. Roll the pie crust, on parchment paper, into a 15" circle. Slide both the paper and crust onto a lg baking sheet. In lg bowl, tosss together the apples, flour, zest, cinnamon, nutmeg and 2 tbsp sugar. Pile the apple mix on top of crust, leaving a 3" border. Fold the border crust over the apples, overlapping the crust slightly. Brush the crust w/ egg. Sprinkle the whole pie w/ remaini9ng sugar. Bake until golden brown and apple are tender, about 55-65 min.
