redneck cherry pie
I've been making these pies for 47 years. This is an unusual pie and the taste and texture play games with your taste buds. Never had one person that didn't love 'em. Originally from my boss' neighbor Norma in Georgia.

Ingredients
- 2 - 9" deep dish pie shells
- 2 - envelopes dream whip (follow directions on box)
- 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 1 box powdered sugar, 16 oz.
- 1 can 21 oz. can cherry pie filling (i use comstock)
- 8 ounces pecan halves (i use raw)
How To Make redneck cherry pie

Step 1Preheat oven to 400

Step 2Pierce bottom and sides of 2 crusts with fork.

Step 3Line bottom and sides of 2 deep 9" pie shells with pecan halves and bake 10-12 minutes.

Step 4Set aside to cool.

Step 5Beat Dream Whip according to directions on box and put in fridge

Step 6Beat Powdered Sugar and Cream Cheese together.

Step 7Mix Dream Whip into cream cheese mixture.

Step 8Fill cooled cooked pie shells with mixture.

Step 9Make a nest in center of each for cherry filling.

Step 10Refrigerate and enjoy! Makes 2 pies.
