How to Make Pork Pie (canadian)
- break up the ground pork,put in dutch oven. add just enough water to cover meat.add onions,salt and pepper.bring to boil add alspice.let simmer 1 hour.meat should look grainy.pour off half of the juice from the meat.add instant potatoes stir until well mixed.set aside.
- pre- bake the two bottom crusts in two pie pans.be sure to poke with a fork to asure no bubbles.bake until lightly browned.remove from oven add meat mixture to crusts.cover with un baked crusts.make slits in top crusts so steam can escape.brush with egg wash.
- bake in 350 degree oven for 30 to 40 min.remove from oven let cool for 30 min.slice and enjoy.very good with gravy over it, served with tossed salad.
