Not everyone can make a good custard pie I could'nt untill I got this recipe. If you like custard pie you will love this I got this from a cookbook put out by the Arkansas cancer siciety.

Ingredients

  • ·
    crust
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    shorting
  • 1 Tbsp
    light corn syrup, i use white karo
  • 1
    egg white
  • ·
    enough water to mix about 2 or 3 tbs.full
  • ·
    filling
  • 5
    eggs less 1 white
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • ·
    dash of salt
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla

How to Make Perfect Custard Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. mix crust ingredients roll out and press into pie pan. put in 400 0/0 oven while you fix the filling Do not brown
  2. mix all the ingredients adding butter last chunk chilled buuter add to mix and cook in a sauce pan just till butter melts. Pull crust out of the oven pour filling into crust sprinkle with nut meg and bake ten minutes it wont look like its done it sets as it cools . I have cooked 2 or 3 minute longer watchig it carefully. enjoy Always be sure and use this crst or it wont work
