I make this at the retirement home where I work. The residents and the staff all love it.
It's a chocolate lovers dream.
I was once told by a very good cook that it was the best chocolate silk pie ever,

Ingredients

  • 1
    unbaked pie crust
  • 1 cup
    semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2
    stick of butter
  • 1 cup
    sugar
  • pinch of
    salt
  • 1 tbsp
    unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3
    eggs
  • 2/3 cup
    evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla

How to Make Peggy's famous chocolate silk pie

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large microwave safe bowl melt chocolate chips and butter at 50% power for 2 minutes or until butter is melted. Stir well until smooth. Whisk in salt, sugar,cocoa powder, eggs, evaporated milk,& vanilla.. Whisk until blended Pour rmixture into pie crust.
  2. Bake for 30 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven until filling has puffed but center still wiggles. Cool completely. refrigerate until ready to serve.about 3 hours, Serve with whipped cream or cool whip.
