peggi's homemade mincemeat for pies

I used left over prime rib in the restaurant I worked at to make this recipe. It is wonderful.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds lean beef, shredded or ground, precooked & cooled, unseasoned
  • 4 pounds apples
  • 3 pounds raisins
  • 6 cups brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 - oranges, peeled, then ground
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 cups apple cider or grape juice or orange juice

How To Make peggi's homemade mincemeat for pies

  • Step 1
    Mix all together & set in fridge overnight before using.
  • Step 2
    Use as much as needed & freeze the rest.
