Ingredients

  • ·
    partially baked crust
  • FILLING:

  • ·
    5 anjou pears (or tart apples or other pears)
  • ·
    2 t. unbleached, white flour
  • ·
    1/8 tsp, salt
  • ·
    1 cup nonfat yogurt or sour cream
  • ·
    1 egg
  • ·
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • TOPPING:

  • ·
    3 t. sugar
  • ·
    3 t. flour
  • ·
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • ·
    1 tsp. margarine

How to Make PEGGI'S DEEP DISH PEAR PIE

Step-by-Step

  1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 400 °.
  2. PEEL PEARS & CUT INTO BITE SIZE PIECES. SET AIDE.
    IN LARGE BOWL, COMBINE REMAINING FILLING INGREDIENTS & FOLD INTO PEARS.
  3. POUR PEAR MIXTURE INTO PIE CRUST & BAKE AT 400° FOR 15 MINUTES.
  4. LOWER HEAT TO 350 DEGREES & CONTINUE BAKING FOR 25 MINUTES MORE.
  5. MIX TOGETHER TOPPING INGREDIENTS.
  6. REMOVE PIE FROM OVEN & SPRINKLE TOPPING OVER FILLING.
    RAISE HEAT TO 375° & BAKE UNTIL TOPPING IS BROWN.
