Although I am not typically a pecan pie baker, my husband loves pecan pie. I went back through my mother's old recipes and found this one. It was one of my dad's favorites, and my hubby loves it too!

Ingredients For pecan pie

  • 1 c
    pecans (pieces or halves)
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    karo syrup (white)
  • 3/4 stick
    butter
  • 1
    pie crust shell (deep dish)

How To Make pecan pie

  • 1
    Brown butter in a skillet.
  • 2
    Combine sugar, eggs and syrup in a bowl. Beat in eggs well.

    Place pecans on the bottom of pie shell.
  • 4
    Add browned butter to sugar mixture, and stir well.
  • 5
    Pour sugar mixture over pecans.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until it is completely set.
